Boo! Hey all.
Been a while, yes, I know, what’s new right? But you’re all reading this with your RSS reader, right?
If you’re not, check out Google Reader. It’s a free, always-accessible web application made by Google, that makes keeping up with infrequently updated sites like this one, a snap. Instead of you having to check in on the website all the time for new content, it will do drudge work for you, and TELL YOU when there’s an update. Then you can read it, any any other sites you’ve “subscribed to”, right from within their user interface. Very handy.

I’ve been doing well; very busy at work, which is a good thing to be sure in this economy. But it’s left little time for other activiities, such as writing here. I seem to have gotten either a spare moment, or I’m just taking a moment, to take a breath, so I thought I’d give you all an update.
Not even sure if I’ve mentioned it here before or not, and I’m too lazy to go check the archives; in any case, I’ve moved in with Joy and things are going well. I’m almost unpacked; there are a few boxes here and there but it’ll just take another couple hours of dedicated cleanup and I should be moved in!
One of the things I’ve been unpacking is my computer, my trusty old G4/733 Quicksilver. It recently had what I think is a videocard failure; thing is, I replaced the video card with what I thought was the stock card (ebayed for $15), and now it’s giving me a kernel panic upon boot. It’s got Tiger (10.4) installed on it, and I tried booting from a Leopard (10.5) install cd, but no dice. I’m suspecting the card I got from eBay was bad, so I’ll be looking for another shortly to see if I can get my computer up and going again. Optimally I’d like to have it working before the next OS X release is out (Sept?), so I can advertise it on Craigslist as having the “latest OS” 🙂
That’s all for now.. more to come later.
…on paper, because I think it’s the pictures that have been weighing me down the most. This here computer isn’t as fast as it once was, and I think iPhoto is beginning to choke at 29,000 photos.

Yeah as I alluded to the past entry’s comments, the past four weeks have kind of been crazy. Just in quick bullet point (and I’m not even going to make them proper HTML bullets, cause I just want to get it down):
-Sonia’s birthday party! (Jan 18)
-Going to the circus! (Jan 19)
-Photography meetup group with Louis & Tori (Jan 27)
-Hockey (Lightning vs Canucks, Jan 31)
-Hilary and Brian visit (Jan 31-Feb 3, Feb 8-10)
-I ask out Joy and she says yes, woohoo (Feb 14)
-Work gets crazy (Jan 4-Feb 19)
-I’m in Tampa for a week for our annual trade show (Feb 17-21)
-My team makes it to the city-league championships in Ultimate (Feb 21)
-I get pretty sick, first experience with a US walk-in clinic, turns out to be an upper respiratory infection (Feb 23)
-Hockey: Lightning vs. Bruins (Feb 23)
-Mostly better (Feb 26)
So there it is in a nut. I really need a new computer, hahah…
Update: Okay, the entry just didn’t feel right without a pic… this one is from Sarasota’s beautiful Lido Key Beach. Clicky clicky!
So… by all accounts HPSN was a great success. I’m pretty happy 🙂
I had a pretty great weekend, too. After finishing off some work on an unrelated project on Saturday afternoon, I headed over to Cam and Melissa’s, where we binged on fantastic, handmade pierogis (perogi, perogy, piroghi, pirogi, or pyrohy) by Melissa. And, oh yeah, salad, bratwurst, chips & salsa and beer. Mmmm. Not the healthiest stuff in the world but hey it’s okay once and while, right? Went to the video store, picked out Martin Scorsese‘s The Departed — what a great film! The parts I was awake for, anyway. We started the film at 10:30 though so I think I have a good excuse 🙂 Stayed the night and slept in until noon (they have good curtains!), and enjoyed another round of pierogis and sunny-side up eggs… oh comfort food how I love thee.. watched an episode of Buffy, then went upstairs and helped assemble their new desk. Man. Why are the instructions on assemble-it-yourself furniture always so bad? Anyway, after some consternation it all came together, and it looks great! Got me thinking of buying some new furniture…
After that, got my things together and went out to Ultimate Frisbee for the first time in more than a month. That was great.. and I wasn’t as dead as I thought I was going to be. And apparrently Cam and Melissa hadn’t had enough of me, because I went right back there for dinner and enjoyed some great grilled chicken while we watched the Oscars. And I’m delighted to say The Departed won Best Picture, because I still have the rental for another three days… haha. Going to try and watch it again tonight if I have the time.
Anyway time to go to work, I’ll leave you with a few images from Ultimate last night. Have a good day!
