Actually, that reminds me about digital watermark embedding. I took a look at how much Digimarc‘s service cost, and it’s okay if you’re a hobbyist — $49/year for up to 100 photos. But add their webtracking service, which will search the web for images which match your watermark, and that price jumps up to $128. Now, granted, having a spider crawl the web looking for your pics would be an extremely useful feature. But it’s more than I’m willing to pay for the service. ‘Spose they’re courting those folks who are able to pay lawyer fees. 🙂
