Emily, Amy and Clyde at the Ultimate game where we got our butts whipped. Clyde is less than 2 months old! Too cute.

At the game still. That’s the Hungry Hungry Humans in green. Slow down you whippersnappers!

Leftovers from Stonewood.

Our waitress wrote the name of the restaurant, the dish and the date on the to-go box. Very thoughtful touch. Aside: the handwriting looks exactly like my friend Katheryn’s. Weird.

And when I ate the leftovers at work the next morning, they were just as tasty as the night before. So much yummy stuff in here. Stonewood is definitely going on my list of “worthy” area restaurants.

Melissa was up early Sat morning to drive Cam and I to work. This is 7:07am, the fog was thick enough you could look right at the sun for as long as you wished.

My cube. Everyone keeps saying it’s a good time to buy a house, but do they come with coffee and free hot chocolate?! Didn’t think so. [This shot inspired by a recent entry in Cam’s blog].

These guys hang out beside the door to the apartment immediately below mine. Don’t seem to move much though!

Out my livingroom window this morning. These two squirrels were jumping back and forth between the trees!

Went to see The Bourne Supremacy this afternoon with Ron, Melissa, Cam, Erik and Amy. Cam thought it was funny there weren’t benches outside to sit on. I said it wasn’t — the kids would skateboard on them and break stuff. Then we saw this sign. Heh. No, at this theatre they want you to wait in their lobby — to the point that they have signs on the ceiling telling you stay in the lobby until the “approved” time when you can go to the theatre showing your film. It’s a real money grab.

Our feature presentation. Great action flick. The car chases were incredible! You’ve never seen such an indestructable taxi cab. ๐Ÿ™‚ Plus, you get a little insight and backstory for the first film. The sequel continues the first film’s international flavor, with scenes shot in India, Italy and Russia. Watching this film almost made me feel like I was on vacation. Good stuff.

Driving home on the 301.

Okay, okay — we didn’t quite drive straight home. Apparently Tampa is a test market for new *$ beverages — this little concoction is called the Avocado — no, wait… an “Affogato” — and it’s only available here and some city out in California. Tasty stuff!

And the marketing copy.
So it was a good weekend after all. I’m glad I got around a bit. Thanks to Cam and Melissa for their continued shuttling of me around. By the way — you know how I mentioned I still hadn’t gotten that emergency BC Driver’s license? Well, I called them back, and it turns out they somehow managed to not put down my apartment number, just my building number. Spoke to the mailman on Friday, and he said it probably bounced back to the sender (but he did ask my name and said he would flag it if he saw something come in matching my description). It’s all moot now, since I can get my real Florida license now. That’ll be Tuesday, since the driver’s license office is closed on Mondays for some reason.

  3. Hahah Alison, you’re right! Been surrounded by these bloody yanks too long. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Davin, yeah, one of them (the one on the far left, actually) is 15″ Powerbook G4 867 w/ 512 mb RAM — my department’s — but I sorta inherited it when I went on that trip to San Antonio and had to bring along the codebase and something to compile it on. It’s pretty nice having a machine to tote around. The smaller laptop, a 12″ Powerbook, doesn’t actually live in my cube most of the time — I was running a test with it — but it sure look purdy don’t it? ๐Ÿ™‚
