Well, let’s see. What’s happened since last Friday? A few major things. I’m gonna keep it short ’cause it’s 1:37am, and it’s a workday:
-On Saturday I turned 26 (had appetizers and a jug-o-beer bought for me)
-On Wednesday I finally got the keys to my mailbox
-Yesterday two major things happened: (1) I got a phonebook (somehow the mailman managed to cram it into my mailbox) and (2) I got a license plate for my car. Finally I can take that German plate off the back. The previous owner wants it back as a momento, so I get to give it to her grandma (who also lives in the Heron’s Run apartment complex).
-Oh, and today: this blog entry is brought to you by the gracious free-trial-cd folks at AOL, who somehow managed to include their software with Verizon’s phonebook. I’m connected at 46,667 baud, what a novelty!
Weekend plans: Re-visit the Tampa Apple Store, this time with Simon and keeping an eye out for decent digital cameras. Oh yeah, maybe throw the disc around with Marc on Sunday (as I did last night).
Someone remind me to send Ulti propaganda today (Friday). I’m trying to convince four of my co-workers who have never played ultimate to spend the evening of their Labor Day Holiday Monday playing at Siesta Key. In a way, we’re in the same boat, since I’ve never played (on a beach :).
That’s all for now, time for bed!

100 Minutes of Jaguar
On Friday night I took a roadtrip with subcontractor Mike and his wife, Carrie to see Apple Computer’s “100 Minutes Of Jaguar” presentation at Tampa’s Apple Store International Plaza.
The event was taking place at each of Apple’s 35 retail stores, but the Tampa one was special, at least according to Macminute.com:
Mac Design joins “100 Minutes of Jaguar” event in Tampa
August 22 – 15:34 EDT
Mac Design Magazine today announced that Mac users who attend the “100 Minutes of Jaguar” event at Tampa, Florida’s Apple Store will receive a free one-year subscription to Mac Design Magazine when they purchase Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar). The store is also giving away limited copies of Scott Kelby?s book, Macintosh? The Naked Truth. Kelby, Mac Design Magazine’s editor, will also be in attendance to sign his book. “100 Minutes of Jaguar” takes place on August 23 and goes from 10:20 PM to midnight.
Anyway, I spent my 100 Minutes of Jaguar waiting in line! There must have been at least 200 people waiting when we got there at 11pm. Apple Store staffers promised to make sure everyone was served (i.e., got in the store). Yipee. 🙂 But they actually made up for it by giving those folks who were at the end of the line a chance to win a 17″ flatpanel iMac. Suh-weet!
Loot I took home includes a copy of MacDesign Magazine, a Jaguar sticker (woot) and a Jaguar mousepad. Macminute.com reader Jason Ediger posted pictures from the event in Costa Mesa, California.
Oh yeah, I took a video snippet of myself, too [10.2 MB, Quicktime required]. -
Bought a bunch o stuff
Went to Target yesterday, bought all sorts of goodies, including (off the top of my head):
-a 12 1/4″ T-Fal saute pan
-a lid for above pan
-a set of 3 knives (8″, 5″, and 3 1/2″ blades, full tang)
-a cutlery organizer
-a plunger
-a brush/dustpan
-a set of 4 serrated knives
-a shower liner
-4 sponges
-2 dish scrubbers
-a wall clock
-a screwdriver set including 44 bits
-6 AAAs and 6 AA batteries
And probably some other stuff I forgot. The grand total was $167, which I put on my check-card (it’s debit, so it comes directly out of my chequing account, though I’m not sure it’s as instaneous as Interac).
