The NHL in Florida, Cam

Wow. Can’t believe it’s March already. Means I’ve been working at a certain human patient simulation company for eight months. It’s been quite the ride so far.
Saw my first NHL game in Florida on Thursday! Went with Dean from Testing, Mara (a customer who knows Dean), Kara (from Marketing) and two of the doctors who spoke at the conference.
Two Florida teams, the Panthers and Lightning, were playing. Talk about hilarous. At least twice a period they’d have fit “Bud Girls” in tight black pants and midriff-baring white tops skate out on the ice with brooms and shovels to smooth out the ice around crease. And if there was a goal? Prepare to cover your ears, because they’d set off a deafening foghorn that would have surely caused the Memorial arena’s roof to fall in 10 years sooner had it been there. Had a fun time screaming “How much time is left?!” with 1:03 left in the second. You see, they’d announce when there’s a minute left in the period. Total cheese! The things you have to do to get people interested in good sport down here. Man.
Trivia time! How much energy is used if an 1100 watt device is left running for 26 hours?
Cam was supposed to arrive last night from Vancouver (he’ll be crashing at my place for a little while), but I found out (through a manager) that due to complications at the border, he didn’t make it. I understand he’s supposed to arrive sometime today, but I haven’t heard from him, so I’m not sure what the deal is.
