Happy Father’s Day!

Alex joined us at work today to help out with testing. The problem turned out not to be as big a deal as previously imagined, but if you look for bugs, you find ’em, and that we did. Left around 2pm, hopefully Jeff and Alex didn’t stay much longer. It was a beautiful day (if a little muggy).
So I ended up losing all three of the auctions. I’m not all that surprised. I was willing to pay $12 per CD. The final prices?
Dune, self-titled: $12.50
Dune, Expedicion: $18.00
Dune, Forever: $12.50
Add $3 shipping to each of those, and you get a number I’m not willing to pay. ๐Ÿ™‚ One day, though, one day they will be mine!
Played a little ulti pickup with Eric and Sonia at Lakewood Ranch today with the Hungry Hungry Humans (a team we compete against in the Bradenton Ultimate league). All nine of us were waaay too tired to run, though, so we played an hour and half of walking ultimate. Haha. Fun times to be sure. Afterward had a bite to eat at “Bamboo”, a little eatery next door to the Bonefish Grill on University. Kinda reminded me of the type of food Cafe de la Lune in Victoria sold, but in a MUCH bigger space. Waaay too big. Actually, both Bamboo and Bonefish are in a strip mall that’s under construction, so perhaps it will get busier once construction has stopped and they start to advertise. It’s a pretty neat place — they served these dehydrated veggie-chips with my grilled cheese croissant and Newcastle pale ale. Yummy stuff. And the kicker? They’re open till 2am. There’s only a few places in Sarasota open that late on a weeknight that I’d actually want to eat at, so I’m really happy Eric pointed out to me. I told them they should put up a webpage with info on other good late night places to eat. Secretly, of course, I’m hoping they end up turing into CitySearch for Sarasota. ๐Ÿ˜€
Talked to Dad on the phone tonight, sounds like he’s doing well. ๐Ÿ™‚ Hooray, I’m totally excited about getting to see him, and Neil and mom in two weeks! Hopefully I’ll have my visa stuff sorted out by then.

  1. cafe de la lune is gone gone gone. there is now a licquor store there. just when you thought the people on that corner couldn’t be any more fucked up.

  2. no kidding. i heard the cops monitored that corner for drug deals from the tops of nearby buildings.
