Well, this post is mostly just for the record-keeping, but after more than a year of working perfectly, yesterday morning my 17″ Apple Studio Display LCD flatpanel decided that the upper half of the backlight would work at half the brightness of the lower half.
But the problem disappeared almost as quickly as it appeared: a couple hours later when I reawoke the computer from sleep, everything was fine and I haven’t seen it since. The picture above is of it in its working state.
Macnerd trivia: who can identify all the icons in the dock? Prize to whoever can name at least 15 first ๐

Ok — first one to guess where that desktop picture came from wins a… contest! Hint: it’s someone in my blogroll….
Hee … I won I won!!!! Sweet a Starbucks card … thanks Krishen.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my mommy and daddy for bringing me up so well. And my wife and son for allowing me to be such a geek. And Krishen of course for putting on these sweet ass contests.
Am I allowed to guess whose desktop photo that is? ๐
No! ๐
…for the curious, that stunner of a photo is by Julie, who, incidentally, just launched her own online gallery ๐
