Wow, what an amazing week. That presentation I spoke about? It went well. As it turns out the environment wasn’t as formal as I was expecting (yeah), and the group was smaller too (double-yeah).
Friday night Pat and I wandered down the California coastline, hung out at the beach for a bit, and found a great little Thai restaurant in Encinitas for dinner. (Aside: Pat had Sirius satellite radio in her Hertz rental, and we heard a anthem of sorts, “Never” by The Roc Project. Full-on epic trance — although it seems to to have come out in 2003, I heard it for the first time eight days ago as part of ravetrax.com‘s weekly live show, Casual Fridays, while DJ Naki was spinning. Naki was singing along while it was playing, she’s got a great singing voice. If you find yourself without plans on a Friday, tune from about 8pm EST onward, there’s some great music to be heard.)
Did a tour of San Diego by trolley today, that was lots of fun. It was a nice setup, for $25 you got a 2.5 hour narrated tour of the city, with ten stops along the way. It took me through Oldtown, the Midway aircraft carrier museum, upper and lower Gaslamp, along the waterfront, past the naval ships, over the bridge to Coronado, past the San Diego Zoo and up to El Prado (home to several museums). The trolleys ran every half hour, so you could get off and look around at any of them along the way — which I did at Seaport Village and El Prado. Lots of fun, snapped a few pics too, which I shall be posting over the next few days ๐Ÿ™‚
Off to bed for me! I’ve got a 7am flight to catch.
