Day 2: Mi Pueblo, Target, Dinner, Pool, Movie

Today Mavis and I hit a Mexican restaurant, “mi pueblo”, for lunch. Yummy stuff… nice small little place, always enjoy going there. They’ve got a great raspberry iced-tea. Then it was off to Target to pick up some more essentials for Mavis, since she still hadn’t heard if or when her luggage would arrive. I picked up a pair of shorts! Yeah new stuff!
Mavis made me an excellent dinner, smoked salmon with peas over egg noodle in a cream sauce. Super tasty! And for a side dish we had a cream-cheese-onion-spinach creation that was not just tasty but probably pretty healthy too! Meanwhile my job was to take notes and watch carefully. It actually turned out to be not so bad, though I will say this: don’t get between Mavis and her cooking utensils. It’s scary place.
After dinner we took a quick dip in the pool; ran into Zach there, which was fun as usual. Mavis, still as perky as ever at 11pm suggested we watch one of the two movies we rented yesterday, so on went Bai fa mo nu zhuan, aka “The Bride with White Hair”. From imdb:

The sensitive swordsman Cho Yi-Hang is tired of his life. He is the unwilling successor to the Wu-Tang clan throne and the unsure commander of the clan’s forces in a war against foreign tribes and an evil cult. One day, he meets the beautiful Lien, a killer for the evil cult who is equally unsatisfied with her situation, but their love angers both the Wu-Tang clan and the evil cult.

It was an interesting story; a lot of beheadings and people pulling swords out of their bodies. Heh.
Tomorrow it’s off to Busch Gardens; it’s supposed to be packed.

Busch Gardens? Isn’t that a bit narcissistic? I mean, adding a ‘c’ makes it more subtle, but it’s still not that subtle..

  2. The Busch in question is in fact Colonel Adolphus Busch, born in 1839 in Kastel, Germany. You can read more about him here.
