Happy Fryday

I collapsed the previous two entries because the page is starting to get just a wee bit long. Three things:
In case you didn’t see, my pictures from last weekend’s trip to Savannah are now up!

And second, with barely a breath to spare — guess who’s going camping next weekend? In a different state? Yeah, that would be me ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m flying up to Versailles, Ohio for one of the biggest, most-respected, most-spirited Ultimate tournaments in the eastern United States — Poultry Days. I’m still learning about the tournament, but from everything I’ve heard and read, it’s looking like it’s going to be a heckuva lot of fun. God, it’s really turning into the summer of the tournament for me. Weee!
Second: tonight, something wicked this way comes… going to see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban with Cam, Melissa, Amy, Erik, Catherine and Darren. I’m kind of excited because I’ve heard good things about the film, and I’m going to be surrounded by Potter superfans, so it’ll be good times I’m sure.
Finally — Since I didn’t see a listing for Florida on the movie’s “Screenings” page, I emailed the US distributor for Super Size Me and here’s what I got back:

Hi there,
Just wondering if there are any plans to bring Super Size Me to a
theater in Florida - I'd really like to see the film, but so far, looks
like no-one's picked it up. :(

Hey Krishen -
We're coming to you either this Friday or next. Stay tuned to local
listings and we'll be there soon.
Enjoy the film and spread the word.
RJ

Sweet stuff, looks like I’ll get to see it after all.
I’m still looking for a way to watch The Delicate Art of Parking. Anyone know if it’s going to be DVDized?

  1. I really want to see “The Delicate Art of Parking” and “Good Bye! Lenin” and “Super Size Me” and so much more. Man I miss the days of Cinecenta where you could get your fill of indie movies 24/7 – well maybe 3/7 or sumfin’
There have been so many interesting/humourous movies of late that I have seen. The last being “Dummy” – starring the d00d from the Pianist (he won an acadamy award) and Milla Jovovich (she’s …. umm hott!) check it out if you haven’t seen it…

  2. Thanks for the recommendations Z. I shall have to check out this “Dummy”. ๐Ÿ™‚
Yeah, I miss Cinecenta too — I knew we had something special there, so I tried to go as often as I could. There is hope though! I just found out about two more independent movie theatres, the Tampa Theater and Madstone Tampa.
