HBC agrees to be acquired by US investor

🙁 No joke. The Hudson’s Bay Company is one of the oldest in Canada, incorporated in 1670.
“Johnston said Zucker is sensitive to the unique role Hudson’s Bay Co. has played in Canada. ‘I really hope there is no national backlash on this,’ he said.”

    Let’s allow the statue of liberty to be ‘acquired’ by, say, france (she’s french anyway, don’tcha know) and hope there’s no national backlash.

    Just a small correction, it’s actually the oldest incorporated company in the *world*. Although, it’s been downhill ever since Beaver Pelts went out.
