My game synopsis? Wow, talk about different second and third periods. After Calgary scored its first goal with half of the third to go to bring them within one, they were an entirely different team. My heart was pounding during some of the rallies which followed — and I was just sitting on Darren’s couch. But I guess it was not to be. 🙁 Oh well. Here’s hoping we’ve got something to look at next year.
On the plus side (I guess — that’s what I’ve been telling myself anyhow) a win for Tampa is a good thing, as it raises awareness of the spot in the area. Frankly though, in retrospect, I didn’t mind the low profile — it meant cheaper tickets! Crud. Well at least it probably means the franchise will probably stick around for a bit longer.

And second, with barely a breath to spare — guess who’s going camping next weekend? In a different state? Yeah, that would be me 🙂 I’m flying up to Versailles, Ohio for one of the biggest, most-respected, most-spirited Ultimate tournaments in the eastern United States — Poultry Days. I’m still learning about the tournament, but from everything I’ve heard and read, it’s looking like it’s going to be a heckuva lot of fun. God, it’s really turning into the summer of the tournament for me. Weee!
Second: tonight, something wicked this way comes… going to see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban with Cam, Melissa, Amy, Erik, Catherine and Darren. I’m kind of excited because I’ve heard good things about the film, and I’m going to be surrounded by Potter superfans, so it’ll be good times I’m sure.
Finally — Since I didn’t see a listing for Florida on the movie’s “Screenings” page, I emailed the US distributor for Super Size Me and here’s what I got back:

I’m still looking for a way to watch The Delicate Art of Parking. Anyone know if it’s going to be DVDized?

Seeing as it could be the last time the Stanley Cup finals come by these parts for a long time, Catherine, Cam, Melissa, Darren and I all jumped in the Altima and drove up to St. Pete Times Forum to watch all the festivities go down outside the hockey arena (there were some tickets left — for $400 a pop!!). They had a TV screen set up outside projecting the game onto a wall of the parking garage. Here’s what it looked like:
