• A question for all you

seasoned travellers out there… are you supposed to bring your own shampoo with you to most hotels? I’m perilously close to empty here!!

  • Hi!

Hey guys. Or maybe I should say guy, since you’re probably my only visitor. I’m really sorry about my blog-neglect. Work, however, has been insane, and it’s left me very little time for myself. I only just finished my workday 10 minutes ago.
Ah well — at least I have something to remember it by: my first speeding ticket! That’s right — I’d never been pulled over for speeding in my 12-year driving career… until tonight, that is. 44 in a 25. There’s $50 I’ll never see again. *grumble* At least it was cheap, I guess. At 12:52 in the morning and no cars in sight, all I really wanted to do was get home to my bed… guess I got a little over-ambitious on the accelerator (another 20 feet and I would have been in a zone where people routinely do 70).

Honestly, it didn’t look that bad
Well, it would seem that open door picture in my last entry was more appropriate than I thought. Pretty much as soon as I walked into my hotel room, I got a call from Cam, who — via magic — figured out I left my apartment door unlocked when I caught the plane this morning. Haha! Thanks Cam (and well, everyone who was involved — Kai, Jeff, my neighbours) for helping sort that out.
The flights went well, no problems of any kind to report. My rental is a 2005 Toyota Camry. For a sedan, it’s decent looking. Notes on it so far: well, it’s kind of the opposite of the Mustang. In a nutshell: brilliant dash; so-so stereo. 🙂 It’s a deathly quiet ride — the blinker doesn’t even make a sound — which makes the handling (which seems somewhat loose) kind of scary. The brakes also seem a little bit hesitant, but maybe that’s just because I’m not hearing the engine growl as I decelerate, like I’m used to with the Altima. The headlights are beautiful. I had to double-check I didn’t have my brights on.
